Notes
:
At the entrance of Dangu, (a
village that present itself as "the door of Normandie"),
on the Epte River side, I set up my paint material on a swampy patch
of land, where a tall pear tree is about to burst in a white flowery
panache.

- Marie
Roure, France. The actual owner of this painting wrote
the following comment:
Year after year, a tall dark eyed man, with a used white cap, and who hates dogs
barking, comes around, taking his easel and brushes, and stays, painting and
looking at him like an old friend would... This is enough to decide that
pear tree to do its best to bloom so nicely at the good time of the
year... Yes, it's a beloved tree... And it makes it strong and beautiful...
The first time I sow this painting I only noticed it was showing exactly
the strange light one can see in March, here in France, before it starts
raining, that lets us hope that a rainbow will grow soon in the sky, and this
made me dream. On that day I decided silently that this painting would be
mine ... The next time I came to see it, I discovered how the pear tree
itself, moving in the blowing wind, "worried" by some dark clouds coming fast,
completely covered with flowers, and looking so happy of the very last
"caresses" of the warming sun rays before the rain, was part of my "coup de
foudre" (... Yes, I love it!) I took it back to my home, and I am glad, as
now, it will stay here, part of my life for ever. Marie Roure, site
