MY TRANING

WITH CLAUDE BONNETERRE

I started off my first training with Claude Bonneterre_ August 23-2005. The first day was from 3pm to 5pm. The first day we talked about what he does, his sculptures and his art work. An hour or so latter I started my own sculpture, I had a chose between Rock, Wood or plaster. I never worked with rocks before so I chose it. Before I got started he explained to me how to properly use the tools and what to do and not to do,the rules. After that was done, I got started right away. He gave me a rock about 1.5ft square, I examend it carefully to try to get an idea. When I got that all done I went right into the rock. For about 2 hours I broke into the rock big chunk after chunk to get the exact form of a man with an angry face, sad face and happy all in one. The body well open with spirals ready to accept love in all directions.

My second day with Claude Bonneterre_ August 29-2005 I started giving pricice details to my sculpture (my rockheart) and to give it some shape and form a form very smooth. It took most of the three hours to put in the work but the results surprised me I didn't expect to see my work that good espesally considering I never worked with rock's before. After it was done I started to draw out many other details that I would like to work out for the third day

My Third day with Claude Bonneterre _September 6-2005 was the finishing touches day just about everything had to be done and perfect. Today I had five hours to get it done. When I got started I first reviewed and studied what HAD to be done and what could wait, not much had to be done yet it took up four of the five hours I had. I finished the edges giving them shape and or smooth round shapes. I sanded out the rest of what was not done to make it 100% smooth. Then I dusted the suclpture off to patch up all unwanted holes and any defults. After all that was done I had to wait for it to dry. Then Claude and I took the mesurements for the stand to place the sculpture on.
